GHHF - Global Hindu Heritage Foundation and Dharma Jagruthi Foundation, are aggressively working in supporting flood affected areas of Assam particularly Silchar and Chachar districts. Hundreds of our volunteers are struggling to helps thousands with very limited resources and equipment, Foundation is providing food, water, medication also moving people to safe locations.
People you see in the picture have lost their houses and some are still submerged, still with the spirit to help fellow beings they are working day and night. As government has seen GHHF working with dedication, they requested to adopt few zones about 130 villages where government cannot reach. Last year during floods GHHF helped 63000 flood victims. This area was adopted by GHHF Assam. After the survey it came to our knowledge that the government provided some food items, but they didn't give anything to the children of the local community. Parents and villagers requested to do something for children. We adopted this area and distributed milk, baby biscuits, bananas, and bread for the children for the last four days. We shall continue it for the next two days. Hopefully after two days they will return to their locality where they belong as the water level is decreasing in their locality.
Today we conducted a cleanliness drive in some areas and distributed insecticides, bleaching powder in flood relief refugee centers in Dolu village to help prevent mosquito bites and reduce malaria transmission.
