[GHHF] Bala Samskar Kendra in Telangana – Students learned about the achievements of Shivaji Maharaj and organized a big precession all around the village.
Professor Ernest E Wood (1883 - 1965)
"The ancient Aryan thinkers who collected, collated, classified and commented upon the thought-traditions accumulated by their distant progenitors performed a rational and ethical service of the greatest value to posterity, when they put together a set of brief sayings, which they called the Vedanata (the end or highest point, of knowledge; the "last word"), and presented them for study along with further statement: "you will not be able to understand or realize the full import of these Great Sayings unless you first put your mind in order by certain practices or disciplines, which we will describe."
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is extremely happy to inform that we are conducting about 200 Bala Samskar Kendras in five States in India – Assam, Telangana, Andhra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. We have many active Hindus who are helping in different ways to ensure our children are taught about the richness of Sanatana Dharma. Each school is teaching different things and at the same time they follow the required syllabus to ensue all the students learn things that are common to all the students. It is challenging as the ages of the students varied from one school to another.
Sri Vamsi Krishna from the area of Koyachelaka Village is taking lot of interest to ensure that the children in his village are taught about the Sanatana Dharma, celebrate all the festivals and also learn about national heroes who protected Hinduism from Muslims. He is instrumental in organizing this event in this village.
In Bala Samskar Kendra of Koyachelaka village ( Khammam district - Telangana) on the eve of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj, children had adorned flowers garland they have made to statue of Maharaj. After that the Bala Samskar teacher had taught the children how the great mother of Shivaji Jijabhai had taught the great values, and education to Shivaji Maharaj. They were taught about how the guru Samarth Ramadas taught Shivaji Maharaj battle tactics. They were taught how Shivaji Maharaj was gifted a sword by the presiding deity in Srisailam temple. Children were taught how Shivaji Maharaj bravely fought for Hindu Samrajayam (Kingdom)
Later Shobha Yatra of Shivaji Maharaj was conducted by the children and the teacher on the streets of the village. There was a good response from village people , especially youth who saw this got inspired and promised to conduct this Shobha Yatra from next year onwards.
Samarth Ramdas who was a Guru of Chatrapati Shivaji described the greatness as follows:
“The pinnacle of determination, protector of people, resolute in intent, wealthy yet detached from his opulence......There is no other on this earth, who has protected any people; It is because of you that the culture of Maharashtra survived.”
Shivaji truly waged a 'people's' war against tyranny of Mohammedan rulers both north and south of Maharashtra and succeeded against both. He was reluctant to take any throne as a King. However, given the norms prevailing in those days as well as much need for a center of focus from where freedom struggle could be waged, Shivaji became Chhatrapati and coronation took place in Raigadh.
He declared himself as 'Hindu pada padashahi', a king at the feet of Hindus. This was important, because Hindus at the time of rampaging Mughal Aurangazeb's rule were less than equal. During Shivaji’s time no class citizens , Dhimmitude , Jijiya and all such burdens were imposed on Hindus who were also forbidden to ride horses and other such humiliations were imposed and enforced. Guru Govind Singh in Punjab and Shivaji in Maharashtra both defied these fatwas and both fought against tyranny of Aurangazeb.
The poet Kavi Bhushan, who was a contemporary of Shivaji, stated: “Had not there been Shivaji, Kashi would have lost its culture, Mathura would have been turned into a mosque and all would have been circumcised.”
Shivaji had a foresight and developed a Naval force in view of new arrivals from Europe. Maratha Navy of Shivaji defeated British navy at the coast of Mumbai.
Swami Vivekananda adds to the Chhatrapati’s subtleties saying, “Is there a greater hero, a greater saint, a greater bhakta and a greater King than Shivaji? Shivaji was the very embodiment of a born ruler of men as typified in our great epics. He was the type of the real son of India representing the true consciousness of the nation. It was he who showed what the future of India is going to be sooner or later”.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
We appreciate it if you can help in hiring more people who can go to these villages to do Ghar Waapasi. We have employed 26 people so far. More people we hire, more villages can be covered to welcome them back and also create Chaitanya (Awareness) among the students and villagers. Also, we are conducting 150 Bala Kendras in five States. Support one or more Kendras.
1) Sponsor one Bala Samskar Kendra for $1000.00
2) Sponsor one Pracharak: In order to expand our base and hire one Pracharak, it would cost approximately $3000.00 - $3500.00 per year. We have ofive anonymous donors who sponsored 9 Pracharaks
