“There is a great affinity in me with the Hindu genius – that mind, vast, imaginative, loving, dreamy and speculative, but destitute of ambition, personality and will.”
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is very happy to inform you that we have started Bala Samskar Kendras (Schools for children and youth) to enrich them with the greatness of Hindu Dharma and appreciate the sacrifices many leaders have done to protect Bharat. There are many kings who have achieved new heights in their skills, talents, and strength. Unfortunately, Bharath denies its history to its own children and glorified the most undeserving rulers. The government has corrupted the minds of young students since Independence from 1947. It is our effort to teach them the greatness of our scriptures, enrich their minds with timeless wisdom, create a sense of pride through time-tested moral and ethical compass, and make them proud of the science behind all our customs and traditions.
Bala Samskar Kendras started in 2021 and now we have about 200 Bala Samskar Kendras in five States in India and four in Bangladesh. They are very active and large number of children are attending and many parents are impressed with their own children and how much they are learning and how they changed behaviorally. Students were taught to chant Hanuman Chalisa.
Bengali Hindu New Year
On the occasion of Bengali Hindu New Year GHHF Assam, Bala Samskar centers organized Parents Worship Program. 200 families across the state participated, children worshiped their parents and sought blessings. This festival draws its inspiration from the Puja of Shiva and Parvati performed by Ganesha.
In the Vedic period, it was known as Charan Sparsh – and according to Rishis, touching the feet of parents, grandparents, teachers or elders gives strength, intellect, fame and knowledge. In the modern era, people believe that doing Charan Sparsh helps get a longer life, fortune and wisdom.
We have read in an epic Mahabharata, Yudhistra stated that touching the feet of the elders gives strength and feeling of greatness. Even Rishis have observed four beneficial factors of touching the feet, i.e. it gives strength, intellect, knowledge and fame.
In India, tradition dictates that the young touch the feet of their elders to seek blessings – from children to adults, it is a common gesture to show respect to elders. Little do we realize that the act of touching elders’ feet is backed by science. Turns out, it is an exercise as well.
The significance of Pada puja is completely followed by the devotees and children to give gratitude to their guru and their parents as well. For any child, his parents are the first guru who teaches them everything.
To perform the pada puja the devotees show their love and gratitude to the guru and their parents. Proceeding with the rituals of pada puja the devotees apply the turmeric and sandalwood paste to the feet of the guru on an auspicious day.

As per the Hindu dharma, it is believed to say that we must first worship our father and mother, guru, and then worship God. the parents are the supreme god to their children since they always fulfill our needs and wishes in daily life.
To understand the importance of pada puja there is a story behind this puja as we can know the life story of pundarika from the Bhagwat Purana who was the staunch devotee of Lord Vittal another form of lord Krishna.
Pundarika used to serve his parents before god and once Lord Vittal appears before him. Pundarika asked him to rest on a stone and wait for a few minutes. After he pleasingly worshipped his parents and then met Lord Vittal and worshipped him.  Due to his noble behavior, his parents reached vaikunta, the abode of Lord Krishna.
We can perform pada puja to give respect and honor to saints and noble people to invite them to visit your house. Lord Brahma had also performed the pada puja to the lord Vamana from his Brahma loka when Lord Vamana take the viswaroopa form in treta yug.

It symbolizes the respect for age, experience, achievements and wisdom of the elders whose feet were touched. Richa Jain states: “The act of padasparshan (touching the feet) has a profound scientific reason. The nerves in the human body, starting from our brain, spread all over our body and end at our fingertips and toes. While doing padasparshan, when the fingertips of your hand are joined to the feet of the opposite person, a closed circuit is established between the two immediately and the energies of your bodies are connected – your fingers and hands become the receptor of that energy, while the feet of the elder person become the giver of the energy. When the elder accepts this respect, their heart becomes filled with good thoughts and positive energy, which they give out through their hands and feet.”
Shikha Goyal says, “According to science, a human body contains negative and positive currents of electricity. The left side of the human body carries negative current and the right side of the body has positive current. Therefore, two halves together complete a circuit built of positive or negative. And so it is suggested that while touching the feet, we should cross the hands. So that the positive current in both flows in a uniformed circuit and similarly negative flows jointly in a circuit. Thus, both the currents formed a well-unified circuit.” (Jargonjosh.com)
