Babasaheb Ambedkar (BR Ambedkar) was born on 14 April 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, as the last child (14th). His father was Subedar Ramji Maloji Sakpal, who served in the British Army. BR Ambedkar's father was a follower of Saint Kabir. Ambedkar was only about two years old when his father retired. His mother died when he was six. His aunt later raised him.
Education:
BR Ambedkar completed his schooling in Satara. Babasaheb completed his primary education in Bombay. After matriculation, he got married at a young age in 1906. At the age of about 15, he married Ramabai, a nine-year-old girl. The parents arranged this marriage according to the customs prevailing at that time. After that, he completed his graduation from Elphinstone College. After graduation, he joined the Baroda Institute. He went to London for further studies. He joined Gray's Inn to study law. He completed his degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He studied for a while at the University of Bonn in Germany.
After returning from England in 1924, he started a society for the welfare of the oppressed classes. Sir Chimanlal Setalvad was the president, and Dr. Ambedkar was the chairman. The main objectives of this society were to spread education, improve the economic conditions, and remove discrimination against the oppressed classes. It was against this background that the Bahishkrit Bharat newspaper was started on 3 April 1927 to solve the problems of the oppressed classes.
After that, in 1928, he joined the Government Law College, Bombay, as a professor. On 1 June 1935, he became the principal of the same college and remained in the same position until his resignation in 1938. In 1936, he founded the Independent Labour Party. In his book ‘The Annihilation of Caste’, Ambedkar severely criticized Hindu religious leaders and the caste system. He also served as the Minister of Labour in the Viceroy’s Executive Council.
After independence, in 1947, he was appointed as the Minister of Law in the first cabinet of the country’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. After independence, Ambedkar served as the first Law Minister under the leadership of the Congress. Two weeks later, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of the future Republic of India. In that order, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly. Dr. Ambedkar mainly fought for the rights of Dalits, such as equality, social justice, and untouchability.
But in 1951, he resigned from the cabinet due to differences with Prime Minister Nehru's policies regarding the Kashmir issue, India's foreign policy, and the Hindu Code Bill. He converted to Buddhism on October 14, 1956, in a historic event held in Nagpur. Babasaheb Ambedkar, who had been suffering from diabetes since 1948, died in his sleep in Delhi on December 6, 1956.

6. Democratic Values – Know how he protected democracy through his role in the writing of the Constitution.
