Michael Pym (1889 - ) author of “The Power of India” writes:

“India is God-intoxicated. Not, as the limited view has it, religion mad, but infected by what Plato called the divine madness of the philosopher, the seeker after wisdom. Nothing of that explains India’s spiritual power.”

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is very happy to announce that we organized a meeting with students and parents in a village near Tirupati.  About 30 students and about 12 parents attended the Schools in a Temple.

Students were asked to chant a number of slokas they learned, some religious songs, desa bhakti songs, and narrate the stories. Very impressive presentation by the students.

Five parents spoke about the change in their children, how they started respecting their parents, and the discipline they learned in school. They said they never thought that the behavior of their children could change. They said some of their children used to talk back and used to talk roughly with no respect. They even choke and shed tears when they start explaining the changes their children are experiencing.

Students are required to sport Tilak on their forehead and talk about its significance. All the students are required to do Pada Namaskar to both parents and the teacher to instill respect for parents and teacher.  Students were asked to enrich our culture and respect our cultural adages - Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava, and Acharya Devo Bhava

Speaking about the importance of Hindu values, we talked about the importance of instilling pride and imparting the richness of Hinduism. Our society has failed to teach the grandeur of Hindu ethos. We talked about the scientific and spiritual knowledge embedded in our scriptures. As Mark Twain said that there is nothing under the sun that our ancient Rishis have not addressed.

To appreciate our faith and its richness in literature and culture, we need to understand the true nature of Christianity and Islam. Unfortunately, we are still ill-equipped with the true nature of other religions. Violence, terror, killings, rapes, and destruction are advocated by Christianity and Islam. Hindus are the only ones who say that all religions are the same while the other two Abrahamic religions abhor Hinduism and do not have any respect. Both these religions have committed to wiping out Hinduism from the planet. It is time to realize the potential danger to Hinduism and start getting reacquainted with the richness of our heritage and understand why ahimsa, tolerance, inclusiveness, respect for others, and truth can save humanity from extinction.
