“We must, however, specially mention the Bhagavad Gita as probably the most important single work ever produced in India; this book of eighteen chapters is not, as it has been sometimes called, a "sectarian " work, but one universally studied and often repeated daily from memory by millions of Indians of all persuasions;”

The concept of Grama Devata is well known in India from the Vedic period.  They were worshipped in the villages with a belief that they will be the guardian of the villages. They are worshipped to prevent untimely deaths, for good crops, for proper rains, to provide safe travels and for prosperity. Grama devatas are worshipped even today as the guardian deities of a village, town, or even city. In villages, the local deities known as Grama devatas inspire such faith.

Even Adi Sankara, who is considered a universal teacher and an Advaitic master and who established the Amnaya Peetham at Sringeri, is said to have consecrated four guardian deities for the protection of Sringeri village and the surrounding areas. These deities, Kalabhairava, Hanuman, and Kali as Durgamba and Kalikamba, are worshipped even today with regular pujas in the Vedic style.

The shrines of grama devatas are usually located on the outskirts of the village, symbolic of blocking entry for evil spirits and diseases. These deities are invoked by prayers, mantras tantras. Generally, the majority of devatas are in female forms.

Villagers were happy to contribute their labor while GHHF contributed. The Temple was opened ceremonially by installing the deities and performing all required pujas.

June 22, 2022, was a special and auspicious day for all the villagers. Finally, with the guidance, and financial support from GHHF, they are able to go to their Grama Devata Temple and fulfill their dream of building this Temple.

In order to preserve our heritage and encourage our Hindus to practice their faith, GHHF helps different projects. The villagers are fortunate that they were able to build this temple. He encouraged them to attend the Temple regularly and encounter the Christian missionaries.

10 Christians returned to Hinduism

Our Pracharaks have been going around many villages talking about the richness of Hinduism. They are sharing information about the difference between Bhagavad Gita and Christianity. Also, they are talking about the dangers of Love Jihad.  These 10 Christians were converted to coincide with the opening of renovated Grama Devata.

Sri Samrat Dutta Who oversees the efforts of Assam  writes as follows:

GHHF, Assam helped build Grama Devata Temple both financially and with guidance in village Nichbasti.

It is to be mentioned here that due to the pressure from CPM-minded Hindus under the guidance of Christian Missionaries the construction work of this Temple couldn't been done by Hindus for the last fifteen years. GHHF pracharaks since February 2022 have been working in this village, met with elders, organized Hindu sabha, and formed committees with young Adivasi youth. After continuous hard work for six months at last Gram Devata Mandir was reconstructed by GHHF.  On this day, ten Christians reconverted to Hinduism. Prasadam was distributed to about two hundred villagers.

The Villagers expressed their gratitude to GHHF for standing with them and assisting in all possible ways.

1) Donate any amount to help the Dharma Pracharaks to work at the ground level.

2) Sponsor one Pracharak: In order to expand our base and hire one Pracharak, it would cost approximately $3000.00 per year. We have five anonymous donors who sponsored Assistants.
