Dr. Ananda Coomaraswamy (1877-1947)
"To conceive of Hinduism as a polytheistic system is in itself a naivete of which only a Western student, inheriting Graeco-Roman concept of “paganism” could be capable.  The Hindu Ishavara (Supreme God) is not a jealous God because all gods are aspects of Him, imagined by His worshippers; in the words of Lord Krishna: “When any devotee seeks to worship any aspect with faith, and when by worshipping any aspect he wins what he desires, it is none other than Myself that grants his prayers. Howsoever men approach Me, so do I welcome them, for the path men take from every side is Mine.”
1)    Bala Samskar Kendras in Annamayya District – learning to chant Daily Mantras for spiritual and religious progress. (4/21)

Chanting of Mantras are supposed to release the energy that results in the decrease of negative thoughts. Chanting of Mantras is as old as Sanatana dharma and it would result in calming the mind and help achieve peace of mind. Scientific studies have revealed that chanting of ON itself can result in reducing the anxiety and depression symptoms,  Chanting also helps one to increase the ability to concentrate and helps focus one’s attention on a single task.

It is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It falls during Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Vaishakha. It is believed that Parashurama was born during Pradosh Kala and hence the day when Tritiya prevails during Pradosh Kala is considered for Parashurama Jayanti celebrations. The purpose of the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu is to relieve the Earth's burden by exterminating the sinful, destructive, and irreligious monarchs that pillaged its resources and neglected their duties as kings.

Sankara was born to a deeply pious couple Aryamba and Sivaguru belonging to the Namboodri caste, in Kaladi in Kerala state, India. Sankara was extraordinarily brilliant and mastered all the sastras (spiritual scriptures and other treatises) at a young age. He decided to renounce the world and become a sannyasin (ascetic), theonly impediment was his mother's love, she was not willing to give permission.  By doing of fate, this came sooner. One day when he was bathing in river Purna, a big crocodile caught him. As he was struggling for life, he appealed to his wailing mother standing on the bank, to give him permission to take sanyasa and die in peace. She had no other alternative but to oblige.  The crocodile left him mysteriously as it had caught him. Most unwillingly his mother permitted him to take Sanyasa, with a rider that he should be beside her at the time of her death.
