Global Hindu Heritage Foundation (GHHF)is pleased to organize the event to distribute Dry Goods to Sanitary workers in Lingaraopalli village in Thalakondapalli Mandalam in Ranga Reddy District around Hyderabad area.  Lakshmi Nivas coordinating the event realizing the important work these Sanitary workers perform to clean the streets and other areas.

Lakshmi Nivas mentioned that we are providing annadanam to the poor people and also providing two weeks supply of dry goods to the Archakas, who are facing financial problems during this pandemic. It is gratifying to distribute these items to sanitary workers because these are the people who are cleaning the streets, offices,  and toilets to prevent the spread of Covid. In fact, these sanitary workers are risking their own lives in order to provide a clean environment. He applauded their selfless service at the expense of their lives. Lakshmi Nivas also requested everybody to wear masks, use hand sanitizers and maintain social distance to curb the spread.

As we mentioned earlier that we wanted to distribute dry goods in these areas to about 600 Priests. Now the number increased to 750. We are expecting to distribute about 1000 easily in the next few days.

GHHF realized the important work these sanitary workers do to prevent the spread of Covid, it was decided to distribute the dry items. Each bag/kit will have the following items: Rice, Wheat flour, Cooking Oil, Urad Dal, Moong Dal, Brown Sugar, Tea Powder, Meal Packet, Chilli powder, Soaps, Tamarind, Turmeric, Sugar, Coconut oil, Upma Ravva, Mustard Seeds, and other items. It may vary depending on the requests of the priests in these cities.

Since the Lockdown due to the fear of spreading Coronavirus, all the Hindu Temples are closed. Now, many Pujaris / Hindu Temples priests are having a hard time meeting their basic needs. Many of them do not have any salaries either from the government or the private Temples. Most of them do not have enough savings to pay their rent and electricity. Furthermore, many private temples do not have enough income to pay their salaries. Consequently, many Pujaris do not have enough resources to meet their daily expenses to provide meals for their families. Recently, newspapers wrote about some priests begging on the streets as they could not provide meals for the family. That news pained so many people and some organizations are helping them financially. They are facing a grim and grave predicament.
