Global Hindu Heritage Foundation’s Bala Samskar Kendra students learn about the richness of Hindu Dharma, sacrifices of national heroes, moral stories and benefits of yoga and meditation. To accomplish this goal, we felt that it is the utmost of the hour to teach about our culture, traditions, mantras, rituals, morals, and our national heroes. This week, our teachers talked about Islamic Scholar Taslima Nasrin,
Taslima Nasreen was born on 25 August 1962 in a Muslim family in East Pakistan (which later became Bangladesh) which was separated from the country due to Islamic fanaticism. Taslima Nasrin is a famous writer and women's rights activist from Bangladesh. She is recognized worldwide for her literary works and social activities. The novel "Lajja" is the most popular of her works.
Even though she was a Muslim, she was shocked by the torturing of Hindus in Bangladesh by Islamic fanatics. The Islamic fanatics issued a fatwa to her for writing against their frenzy with her pen. Everyone must read the novel "Lajja.” Most of us don't know that once Bangladesh was also a Hindu country. Today, due to the widespread use of media and social media, everyone knows the news that happened in any corner of the world, but how many people know the stories of the Hindus who fell prey to the Muslim fanatics in the past?
After the partition of the country, which was formed as Pakistan and later transformed into Bangladesh, which was a Muslim majority region, she grew up watching the atrocities and anarchy that the Muslims were doing to the Hindus. He saw those Muslims who act like animals who were torturing Hindus in the name of religion and through his writings she informed the world about their plight. Enraged by this, the Muslim fanatics tried to kill her. She fled from there and came to India as a refugee.
Nasrin has been living in exile since 1994, with multiple fatwas calling for her death. After living more than a decade in Europe and the United States, she moved to India in 2004 and has been staying there on a resident permit long-term, multiple-entry or 'X' visa since. She now lives in New Delhi, India.
In the case of Bangladesh's separation from Pakistan, more than 30 lakh Hindus were killed there. A few days ago, thousands of Hindus were killed in Bangladesh. Hundreds of temples were burnt and demolished by Muslims there. If the number of Hindus in the country is large, it is a secular country, when the number of fanatics increases, it becomes a graveyard. Therefore, we request that every Hindu must fight against the religious fundamentalism of the desert religions, prevent religious conversion and try to bring the converts back to Swadharma.
Some quotes from Taslima Nasrin
“Do you really think a God who created the universe, billions of galaxies, stars, billions of planets- would promise to reward some little things in a pale blue dot (i.e. Earth) for repeatedly saying that he is the greatest and kindest and for fasting? Such a great creator can't be so narcissist!
“I don't find any difference between Islam and Islamic fundamentalists. I believe religion is the root, and from the root fundamentalism grows as a poisonous stem. If we remove fundamentalism and keep religion, then one day or another fundamentalism will grow again. I need to say that because some liberals always defend Islam and blame fundamentalists for creating problems. But Islam itself oppresses women. Islam itself doesn't permit democracy and it violates human rights.”
