Swami Vivekananda Jayanti - National Youth Day
“It is our duty to encourage every individual's efforts to live up to their ideals and ideals. At the same time, it is our responsibility to make that ideal as close as possible to reality.” - Swami Vivekananda.
A boy was born to Vishwanath Dutta and Bhuvaneshwari Devi in Calcutta, sometime before sunrise on January 12, 1863. They named the boy Narendranath Dutta. That boy later became a guide to the world and earned a place as one of the spiritual gurus. His name is Swami Vivekananda. Let us review the life of Vivekananda, who gave us the path of knowledge and a good message, and his teachings.
From his childhood, Narendra had a habit of researching everything he knew. Why anything? what They are not those who do not know about the topics. At an early age, they developed a curiosity for spirituality. Saints and monks attracted his attention. One day a monk came to Narendra's house and asked for alms. Narendra ran into the house without a second thought and brought a fine cloth and gave it to the monk. Due to such concepts, Vivekanand became accustomed to meditation from childhood.
Vivekananda was a child genius. Apart from their studies, they excelled in music and gymnastics. Their specialty is reading fast and understanding equally well. Once Sir John Lubbock took some books from the library and returned them the next day. Have you read so many books in one day? The librarian took a book and asked some questions about it. Narendra answered all of them easily and without any hesitation. The librarian was also surprised to understand that Narendra had read all the books.
Narendra was very interested in God and His existence. This interest led him towards the Kali temple in Dakshineshwar where Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa resides. Initially, Narendra did not accept Ramakrishna Paramahamsa as his guru. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Swami became the most important figure in Vivekananda's life as he got to know the Guru more deeply.
Coming from a wealthy family, Vivekananda, who experienced severe financial problems after his father's ascension, changed the stage of Yavadbharata along with his spiritual consciousness at this stage. In 1887, after the ordination of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Narendra took sannyasam along with some other disciples. That's when his name changed from Narendra to Vivekananda. Vivekananda means. 'Joy gained through wisdom and knowledge'. After his ordination, Swami Vivekananda went on spiritual tours all over India.
Vivekananda, who was moved by the hardships people were facing during his visit, vowed to find a solution to these problems. In 1893, theological knowledge was introduced to the Western world through the platform of the World All-Religious Conference held in Chicago, USA. He encouraged the whole world to learn about the glorious culture and traditions of India.
National Youth Day:
Sri Aurobindo once mentioned that Swami Vivekananda awakened the spirituality of India. Vivekananda, who added nationalism to this consciousness and awareness, explained how crucial nationalism among the country's youth is for the existence of a country.
Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Dr. B.R. Swami Vivekananda were inspirations to many like Ambedkar. He worked throughout his life to enlighten society with his impressive eloquence and excellent subject knowledge. The youth of the country have been tapped. Taught the work to be done. India is celebrating the 'National Youth Day' on 12th January on the birth anniversary of the great man.
Swamiji's ideals and his messages guide the youth. In fact, understanding the teachings of Vivekananda is very important for today's youth who are striving to achieve more growth in a short period of time. Contextual as well.
In his speech on Raja Yoga, 'Take a fine point. Make it your life. In your thoughts, in your dreams, in your life, that is the ultimate. Your brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body should think the same. Put aside all other thoughts. Vivekananda revealed that only then you can achieve success. Whether you want to be a talented sportsperson or start a budding company, I believe that if you stick to this aspect taught by Vivekananda, you will not be disappointed. Never give up on your goal. It should be continued, persistent and persevering in pursuit of the goal.
Swami Vivekananda emphasized that it is good to get inspiration and motivation from the lives of others, but not to lose our individuality. For this a seed is explained as an example.
A seed takes the help of earth, soil, wind, and water to become a tree. But when it is placed in the ground, it does not become soil; when it mixes with the air, it does not become air, nor does it become water because it uses water. Just turn them into ladders and grow on your own. Transforms into a plant and then a tree. In today's youth, the habit of imitating movie heroes and idols has increased. It is good to be inspired by the lives of successful people, but it is better to choose one's own path rather than blindly following others' advice and suggestions to succeed in one's life.
This applies to all walks of life. It is good to know the best practices from around the world, but we should not ignore our rich culture, rich history and socio-economic reality. Never forget that we must lead our own success story.
Today's youth are faced with challenges in the form of excessive propaganda, inaccurate information and dominance. A youthful mind has the power to accept different ideas and concepts and understand their reality. As Vivekananda said on one occasion, just like a frog in a well thinks that he knows everything, so we should always keep abreast of the changes coming in the world and society.
One should keep learning new things throughout life.
There is no end to learning. Everyone learns new things and the best in others.
Know ideals and qualities. If you like it, practice it. Also, we should never ignore the roots of our culture and traditions.
Swami Vivekananda's idea was that the whole world should be together as brothers. He also emphasized that the essence of all religions is to know and respect the divinity in human beings. Referring to a verse in Bhagavad Gita through the platform of World Interfaith Conferences. 'Canals and rivers born in different places. are like all the different rivers joining together in the sea.
The final destination of different ways of thinking and worshiping is the same.
In the same meeting, he described sectarianism, religious fanaticism, and bigotry as terrible monsters in the hands of humanity. It is claimed that without these terrible monsters, mankind would have already made much more progress.
Although they warned us in 1893. these teachings are still relevant today. In the spirit of their teachings, today's youth should fight against narrow casteism, bigotry and intolerance. To build a wider and more inclusive world, we should move ahead with the inspiration of our basic principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam'.
Swami Vivekananda introduced to the world the greatness and profound knowledge of the Indian philosophical tradition while removing the superstitions embedded in the Indian society. A spiritual master with incredible charisma, he has guided crores of people across the world and has given a message to generations to come. What you think reflects your mind.
If you think you are weak, you will be weak. I hope that the youth of the country will take the example of Vivekananda's words of courage, if you think you can achieve something, you can go ahead.
On Vivekananda's birth anniversary, besides reading his life and understanding it. our greatest tribute is to practice his message in our lives.
