If there is one place on the face of the earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India....For more than 30 centuries, the tree of vision, with all its thousand branches and their millions of twigs, has sprung from this torrid land, the burning womb of the Gods. It renews itself tirelessly, showing no signs of decay.

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is very happy to initiate the Ghar Waapasi program in around Pithapuram in East Godavari District. It is a deeply religious place with historical significance. It is regarded as one of the 18 Shakti Peethas. Sri Puruhutika Devi Temple is located within the Temple complex of Sri Kukkuteswara Swamy Temple. Pilgrims take bath in Pada Gaya Sarovar and have a darshan of Devi.

Pithapuram is also known as the birthplace of Sri Pada Vallabha, the first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya that took place in 1320 AD. SRI PADA SRIVALLABHA is the most powerful Avatara and many people believe that he is capable of destroying the difficulties, losses, miseries, and obstacles occurring in the lives of His dedicated devotees.

In January 2020, numerous Gods and Goddesses were destroyed and even the God’s picture on the flexes on the streets was torn down. According to the news reports, some unidentified miscreants used hammers to disfigure cemented idols of Lord Ganesha, Hanuman, Sai Baba, and Durga Mata in the Bajranj temple located in the open shed in Suravarapu street in Agraharam and also destroyed various Hindu god flex banners installed in the open space along the roadside in nearby areas on the outskirts of Pithapuram town.

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is very happy to appoint Vinay Ambavarapu who is very talented and enthusiastic about preserving our heritage. He is highly educated. But his passion is to work at the ground level to welcome as many Christians as possible back to Hinduism. He has a particularly good grounding in our scriptures and also recites many Stotras and slokas. He performs Sahasranama Deep Aradhana every year on the last day of Karthik Masam with a beautiful art with 2000 oil lamps in T.T.D temple Pithapuram. His dream of Lord Venkateswara telling him to do this deep Aradhana prompted him to do it every year. He is assisted by Esubabu (A Hindu from Birth) who is very much interested in working at the ground level. He is equipped with good knowledge about the richness of Hindu Dharma.

Visited Two Villages

Our Pracharaks Vinay and Esubabu visited two villages – Kondevaram and Nava Kondevaram.  They are talking about the rights of the Hindus as per the Constitution and the privileges of SC/BC/ST. They mention that if these minorities get converted how they lose their privileges and how they may not receive all the benefits they are entitled to. Similarly, they are distributing the 52 Page book comparing the verses in the Bible and Bhagavad Gita. That Temple is not attended to and is closed. Convincing the villages, they are able to make the villagers open the Temple. They said that they will help the Temple to function and requested them to open the Temple daily for Hindus to attend.

Visited Radala Peta, Clean up Temple and did Abhishekam to Devi

They also visited Radala Peta and talked to a  number of Christian families and also Hindu families. Now a majority of them are converted to Christianity. But there is a beautiful Devi Temple in the village in a very dilapidated situation. Some of the villages expressed a desire to clean it up and start the worship services. Villagers and our Pracharaks agreed to start the clean-up the next day.

·        Next day they went to the Panchayat office to find out how to get the electricity connection.
·        They went to the Electricity Department and wrote a letter requesting a connection to the Devi Temple.
·        They went to the Municipal Commissioner’s office and informed  them of our plans.
·        Sanitation people were requested to do the bleaching to the Temple and provide the material.
·        Then started decorating the Temple with banana plants and flowers.
·        Decided to do Abhishekam to Devi Mata in the Temple.
·        They arranged pulihora, puffed rice, dal, and brown sugar, and other items as Prasadam.
They brought Hindus together and started the Temple during Karthik Masa, decorated it with lamps and infused pride in the community.

Because of persistent and dedicated efforts by our Pracharaks – Vinay and Esubabu – the  Devi Temple is being used after many years of neglect.

The renovation would cost about TWO lakhs

Our Pracharaks have been approaching different families and donors to help renovate the Temple. GHHF will try to help to some extent to make sure that villagers also have a similar interest in the renovation and maintenance of the Temple.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

1) Donate any amount to help the Dharma Pracharaks to work at the ground level.
2) Sponsor one Pracharak: In order to expand our base and hire one Pracharak, it would cost approximately $3000.00 per year. We have five anonymous donors who sponsored Assistants.
