GHHF Helped Villagers to sign Petition to STOP Church Construction in a village near Tirupati
As you know that Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is working closely with likeminded people to do two things to stop the conversion:
1. Stop the conversion of innocent Hindus into other religions
2. Welcome back those who were converted to Christianity through deception force, fear, and allurement.
Villagers from Yerravaripalem approached our Tirupati Office Associates Sri K Reddappa and Sri K Subbanna to express their concern regarding the construction of a Church near Hindu Temple. They heard about our successful efforts on December 1, 2019 to stop the construction of Church on back of Devi Temple in Puttavari Palem near Tirupati.
Our Associates explained to the villagers about their rights and what action they can take as per the law. They were upset and disgusted at the heavy-handed efforts by Christians to construct the Church in from of Sri Hanuman Temple. It is also awfully close to Gangamma Devalayam. They want to object to the construction for the following reasons:
1) There are no Christians in the village
2) It is being constructed opposite to Sri Hanuman Temple which is hardly 100 meters away.
3) They feel that this will create animosity among people, disrupt the peace and harmony and also, they may be forces to change their religion by fear or force.
4) They do not have any permission either from the Panchayat or the Collector’s Office.
After explaining the legal way of addressing the issue of Church construction, Villagers asked for our help to submit a petition to different officials including the collector-to remove the structure. As per IPC 153 and 154, no activity should be undertaken to disturb the peace and harmony in the community.
Also, as per G O Ms number 376 dated November 29, 2012, no minority religious structures could be built near a temple without the permission of the District Collector. They can be removed if they are built without permission.
Our GHHF Associates went to the village explained the legal way of stopping the construction. About 30 villagers signed the petition addressed to MRO to remove the church.
Our Associates and few villagers went to the MRO office and submitted the signed petition on December 14, 2020. We sent a certified letter to the District Collector.
Let us hope they will heed the villagers' request as per IPC 152 and 153 as well as GO 376 to see that it is demolished.
We will update the progress as it develops.
