The desecration at Muthyalamma temple in Secunderabad snowballed into a tense confrontation between protesting devotees and police at the temple premises on Saturday afternoon. In the backdrop of a bandh called by local traders to protest the vandalizing of the idol at the temple, large number of devotees including women and members of religious organizations gathered around shouting slogans.
A few local organizations had given a call for bandh in Secunderabad on Saturday to protest against the vandal at the Muthyalamma temple early this week. The police had taken into custody one person Salman Saleem Thakur, in connection with the incident and registered a case against motivational speaker Munnawar Zama and two others who are owners of a private hotel at Secunderabad. The police had sealed the hotel where Munnawar Zama, had organized coaching classes.
Union Minister and Telangana BJP President, Kishan Reddy, strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth reddy) on Thursday for his silence regarding the recent attack on Muthyalamma Temple. Reddy questioned why the Chief Minister has not condemned the incident and expressed concerns over the need for a protest to highlight the issue. “Why has the Chief Minister not spoken up about the attack on the temple? The video footage of the incident would enrage anyone, regardless of their religion,” said Reddy during his address. He also raised concerns about the police response, questioning why a lathi charge was conducted on the protesting youth. “What crime did they commit to deserve such treatment? Don’t they even have the right to express their protest?” he added.
Malkajgiri Lok Sabha member Etala Rajendar said that fundamentalists had carried out attacks on six Hindu temples in the last two months. They were not executed by insane persons, but it was a pre-planned plan to hurt the sentiments of Hindus, he said. Talking to reporters after visiting the house of Sai Kumar Goud at Hasmathpet in Old Bowenpally, who sustained grievous injuries in the police lathicharge near Muthyalamma temple, Rajendar said that over 200 persons from Mumbai, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh have attended hate-speech meetings in a hotel in the name of personality development classes. But, the police have tried to divert the issue by stating that an insane person had carried out the attack. Stating that he had personally lodged a complaint against this act, Rajendar said that the state government had not responded even after the sentiments of Hindus had been hurt.
Hindus have to wake up and look around to see the injustice inflicted on Hindus. The government, terrorists and anti-Hindus have deliberately attacking the Temples to hurst the sentiments of Hindus. Unless Hindus show their strength, they have the potential to be wiped out.
