Simhachalam is the place where Narasimha Swamy Temple is located. Giri Pradakshina (walking round the hill) is done around Simhachalam and Kailas Giri hills (Simhachalam temple, is located at the Simhachalam hilltop) of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The event is considered very sacred, auspicious and believed that it is equivalent to walking around the world (Prapancha pradikshina). Giri Pradakshana is done on Giri Purnima (Full moon day in the month of July, that is on full moon day of Ashada masam). It is considered that by doing Giri Pradakshana all the wishes of devotees will come true, and their family will be blessed with peace. Special darshan of the temple at the hilltop will be provided in the early hours of next day for those who complete the pradakshina. People from all parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nādu, Karnataka, Orissa participated in the auspicious event. Traditional Andhra Pradesh people participate in Giri pradakshina by singing devotional songs. Motored chariot of the God also runs around the hill.
“Within moments of My giri-pradakshinam”, continues Arunachaleshwara, the human attains a super-human body fit enough to take him to higher worlds. He acquires a strong and able body besides a healthy and invincible one”.
Skanda Purana sats that Pradakshina had four words and each word is significant:
The letter “PRA” washes one’s sins.
The letter “DA” fulfils one’s wishes.
The letter “KSHI” frees one from bondage of Karma.
The letter “NA” confers the benefit of mukti or salvation.
Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina As every year on this day Aashaadha Poornima devotees flock in, to do Giri Pradakshana around the Simhachalam hills which is about 32KM. Global Hindu Heritage Foundation as like every year is planning to provide amenities to the devotees who totter and trudge. •    massage and acupuncture.
•    am providing toilets for the public to use
•    provide water and beverages
•    providing food

Sri Srinivas saya: “All round the mountain there are almost no toilets provided, and particularly ladies and old people with diabetics suffer a lot, so I am providing toilets for the public to use. There are many who provide water, beverages and food but we are the only one who are providing shelter, carpets to lay down and toilets to public. All are welcome to visit or be part of our program. I strongly believe that helping devotees is the biggest devotion and greatest service to God, and i always thank for the opportunity we got.”
