[GHHF] Agasthiyar Kalai Mandrm honored Dr Prakasarao Velagapudi for his service to Hindu Dharma.
It is a new organization started only a few months ago. A group of dedicated and passionate Tamil individuals to preserve, promote and propagate traditional Carnatic music that has existed since 14th century. They have been organizing traditional traditions, arts, culture, and devotion in a truly remarkable way.
Agasthiyar Kalai Mandram (AKM)organized Aishwaryam Celebration, an event commemorating the vibrant festivals of Navrathiri, Deepavali, Annabhishekam and Skanda Sashti!
This event includes Thirumurai Chanting by 108 kids, Villupattu, Kavadi, Karagam and Velavan dance performance by our talented children from the DFW Metroplex. AKM invited people to join them “for this first-of-its-kind event that beautifully blends tradition, entertainment, and community spirit.”
They honored four people for their service to the arts, language, music and Sanatana Dharma. Dr. Prakasarao Velagapudi and his wife were honored for his service to the Hindu Dharma – especially recognized the service to Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple and Global Hindu Heritage Foundation. They presented a bag containing Lord Ganesh.
Speaking on the occasion I emphasized the importance of preserving our arts, music, literature, traditions and culture. It is time to go back to our roots and preserve the richness of our traditions. We should refrain from being secular and sinful in preserving our culture. Mother earth will revolt against the adulterated music and hopefully the roots of our traditions will be restored. Bharata Mata will soon be Vishwa Guru spreading the spiritual, arts, music and culture across the globe.
I thanked all the organizers for starting this organization and wished him the best in preserving the traditions and culture of the original Carnatic music.
