[GHHF Assam] Flood relief efforts - Provided 67,000 meals; baby food for 134 children, fodder for 65 cows and covered 77 Villages in Assam; Donations requested to serve further.
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation in Assam is in the forefront of helping the flood victim in the villages and the places close to Bangladesh border both for humans and animals affected by floods.
Sri Samrat Dutt from Cachar has been coordinating and organizing activities in ASSAM– Ghar Waapasi and Bala Samskar and other activities. He was responsible for identifying four Pracharaks – two males and two females. He also identified 7 teachers for Bala Samskar. He even found three villages where Bala Samskar Kendras are being sponsored by them. GHHF would like to express our appreciation to Samrat Ji for his passion and determination to coordinate and supervise these activities.
His concern for the flood victims takes him and his team of workers to various places in Assam that were devastated by the floods. He has been involved in helping these flood victims for many years. We are grateful for his passion, dedication, and leadership qualities in organizing many of these activities.
In 2022, GHHF actively participated in relief work serving thousands of flood victims. GHHF, Assam in collaboration with Rising Youth Society NGO distributed dry foods. We are collaborating with more NGOs to reach and help more people in their distress. Distributed 700 liters of drinking water, 5kg rice, soybeans, biscuits, dal etc. to more than 200 families in District Cachar. Distributed clothes to Adivasi-dominated tea garden at Cache. Distributed khichdi (cooked food) to 50 families in District Dima Hasao.
July 2024 Floods in Assam
“The flood situation in Assam remained grim on June 21 with more than four lakh people reeling under the deluge in several districts,” officials said. Several major rivers, including Kopili, Barak and Kushiyara, were flowing above the danger level as per reports till June 20. “More than four lakh people in 19 districts – Bajali, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Cachar, Darrang, Goalpara, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sonitpur, South Salmara, Tamulpur and Udalguri – continued to reel under floodwater,” the officials said.

A few days ago, GHHF received information that 75 Hindu families were trapped in water all around, since this village is on the Indo-Bangladesh border, no government or non-governmental organization has noticed it so far, after two days ground level work GHHF cadres found the location of the village and reached their village by boat and bike We gave them cattle feed along with food and daily necessities item to these poor Hindus of SC community.
