2. Remembering Mother as the Pillar and panacea for Humanity (5/12)
Hindu religion has given her the highest position any religion can accord. Matru Devo Bhava is the dictum nobody can forget. Mother is divine. It is important to remember that only Hindus worship God in the form of Divine Mother. In Hinduism we have Sri Lakshmi, goddess of wealth, Saraswati the goddess of learning and knowledge, Parvati goddess who bestows women with long married life, and Kali, the power of time and other goddesses who protected the human race from demonic forces. Women as goddesses are worshipped in all religious festivals.

6. More than 100 pair of Shoes distributed to the needy and poor people enabling them to walk on the hot concrete streets in Bharat. Donations Requested to provide more Chappals. (5/16)
GLOBAL Hindu Heritage Foundation is incredibly happy to announce that we distributed more than one hundred pairs of shoes to the poor people who cannot afford to buy. Many of them cannot afford to buy these shoes and suffer silently and walk on the streets that burn their feet. Donors: Sri Bhaskara Devata and his friend provided 100 pairs of shoes to GHHF to donate them to the needy. We thank them for their generous supply of these shoes and helping the villagers who need them. Importance of Charity in Hinduism: Charity is praised as one of the greatest virtues in Hindu Dharma. A
gift that is given without any expectation of appreciation or reward is beneficial to both giver and recipient. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says, “Charity given to a worthy person simply because it is right to give, without consideration of anything in return, at the proper time and in the proper place, is stated to be in the mode of goodness.” (17:20)

8. About 20 Water Tanks for the dehydrated, thirsty animals are placed in different centers to provide Water during this scorching summer. (5/18)
Water Tanks for Animals: In this heat when temperature is already making new records, imagine how tough it would be for the stray animals and birds, who have no recourse from the fury Sun god! But there are ways to ensure that our furry and feathered friends make it through the season with ease, if only each one of us becomes a little mindful. In Hinduism, animals occupy an important place. Hindus believe that animals contain the souls of their ancestors or may have been reborn. Thus, they are treated with respect. They are not to be killed for their food. In fact, Cow is regarded as the most sacred animal that needs to be protected, not killed. In fact, the Cows symbolize wealth, compassion, motherliness, righteousness (dharma), motherhood, divinity, sattvic nature, sacrifice, service, purity, and auspiciousness. In ancient India, a person’s social and economic status depended upon the number of cattle he possessed.

10. Bala Samskar Kendras – Students learned a story about Crane and Snake with a moral to Think Before You Act. (5/20)
Once upon a time, on the banks of a river, lived a crane and a crab. The two were very good friends. The crane had a major problem. There was a bad snake in the region, that was always eating up the crane's eggs. The crane and the crab put their heads together and tried to work out a way out of the problem. The crab had a sudden brilliant idea. "We are not equipped to kill this powerful enemy of ours. To kill the snake, we must invite an enemy of the snake", he said. The crane was thrilled with the idea. But his wife, who was a sensible person, was not too sure. She asked him to go through the plan thoroughly, so that it would not backfire. The crane was, however, convinced that the plan would work great. He picked up a fish and dropped it outside the home of a mongoose. All along the path up to his house, he dropped fish at regular intervals.
