GHHF 1000 Archakas/Priests received Two Weeks Supply of Dry Food Items; Served Annadanam to 3000 poor people; Ghar Waapasi Resumed from June 21st.
“Annadhanam - is the most pious and meritorious of all charity. Because, it is only by Annadhanam that one can be fully satisfied. It is only when one is given food, however much that person may take; there is a limit beyond which he just cannot take. The person says 'Thrupthosmi' (meaning ‘enough I am satisfied’). When food which is offered exceeds the limits, the person begs 'Please do not serve any more'. It is only when full satisfaction is expressed like this; the giver also reaps the full reward of charity”. Sai Baba
Dry Food Items Distributed to 1000 Archakas
As per Vedas, “Annadanam Samam Danam Trilokeshu Na Vidhathe” meaning Annadanam is supreme and it cannot be compared to any other charity. Our tradition pronounces that one who does annadanam attains Punya Loka (heaven). In fact, the whole creation depends on food. Taittireya Upanishad says “Annam vai Pranaha”, that means All life force comes from food. In Bhagavad Gita, Sri Krishna declares, “Annad bhavanti bhutani.” That means all beings evolved from food. Our scriptures talk about “Daridra Narayana” - God dwells in the poor person.
Because of Covid pandemic, many Archakas did not have enough resources to feed their families. Global Hindu Heritage Foundation has decided to honor about 600 Archaka (Priest) families in Vijayawada, Guntur, Anantapur, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, East Godavari District and in Hyderabad. Because of the fear of spreading Coronavirus, many Hindu Temples are closed. Now, many Archakas/Pujaris / Hindu Temple’s priests are having a hard time meeting their basic needs. Many of them do not have any salaries either from the government or the private Temples. Most of them do not have enough savings to pay their rent and electricity. Furthermore, many private temples do not have enough income to pay their salaries. Pujaris in small villages are facing real hardships to maintain the family. Recently, newspapers wrote about some priests begging on the streets as they could not provide meals for the family. That news pained so many people and some organizations are helping them financially. They are facing a grim and grave predicament.
Items to be included in the Packet would be: Rice, Idli Ravva, Wheat flour, Wheat Ravva, Onions, Chili Powder, Turmeric, Pickle packet, Cooking Oil, Tamarind, Soaps, Sugar, Kandi Pappu, Ghud, Mustard seeds, and others. Following Centers distributed the Dry Food Items:
Anantapur 250 Priests
Visakhapatnam 250
Hyderabad 250
Tirupati 150
Bhadrachalam 25
Anakapalli 25
Guntur (We did not do as our Pracharak contracted Corona Virus; We are very happy to report that he is doing OK now; He will resume his work very soon)

TOTAL 950
Many organizations and Community leaders have been distributing the Priests in big cities. There are many priests in the nearby villages who are not receiving these items. Their need is more acute.
Annadanam was distributed to 3000 Poor People
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation (GHHF) has also distributed meals for more than three thousand (3,000) poor people in four locations -Tirupati, Chittoor, Guntur, and Visakhapatnam. Because of the lockdown in the State, many people are not able to work. They do not have enough resources to support their families to feed. GHHF decided to help the poor and provide meals for about 150 people every day in the Guntur area. We have provided meals for three weeks.
Kudos to DONORS

It is only because of their trust and generous contribution, GHHF was able to undertake this task. Our Salutations to all our friends for their selfless service.
