[GHHF] Roundup of ground level activities in Bharat: April 11-20, 2024
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is organizing several projects in Bharat and Bangladesh such as Bala Samskar to educate the Children, welcoming back those want to return to their original faith, Grama Devata renovation to revive traditional culture, Dhupa Deepa Naivedyam for several Temples, sponsor a priest to manage the closed Temples and others.
1. Bala Samskar Kendras – Students learned about the importance of Surya Namaskar and practiced it to get the benefits. (April 11)
What is Surya Namaskar? In Sanskrit, Surya means sun and namaskar means greeting or salutation. Surya Namaskar is then a greeting to the sun! It is an ancient ritual of twelve steps that warms up the body preparing it for yoga practice. That is why it is practiced at the beginning of a yoga class. The Purpose of Surya Namaskar
Performing asanas in the rays of the sunrise sounds beautiful and inviting but what really are the reasons why we should practice Surya Namaskar?

The Karagre Vasate Lakshmi mantra is a shloka originally from the Vishnu Purana. It is one of the most practiced mantras, chanted every day by the old and young alike.
Most practitioners of mantra meditation do not start their day without chanting or listening to this mantra early in the morning. For this mantra, as soon as you wake up from sleep, focus on the palms of the hands.
Benefits of the Mantra: The Karagre Vasate Lakshmi Mantra holds several benefits for the mind of both the chanter and the listener. Listening or chanting to this soothing Lakshmi mantra along with meditation helps you in the following ways.
3. Nearly 4,000 thirsty devotees were served Buttermilk at Akkamamba Jatara (Fair) to relieve the scorching sun. (April 13)
Akkamamba fair was held on Ugadi day on a grand scale this year at Vela Akka Mamba Temple in Kalyandurg Temple. Devotees come in large numbers and participate in the service of the Goddess. Every year, the devotees fast with great faith and go to and go to Akkamamba Hill with Bonas, offering themselves in the presence of Ammavaru. It is firmly believed that if they do this, their wishes will be fulfilled, and happiness will be bestowed in the house. Many devotees climb the steps up the hill and perform special puja at koneru (Lake). If a childless couple climbs and performs puja, it is believed to have their wish fulfilled. On this occasion of the fair, the whole area turns into a festival with thousands of people. It is a feast for the eyes to see. Devotees sometimes line up to see the Goddess from morning until night. Nearly 4,000 devotees served Buttermilk.

Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is pleased to announce that Bala Samskar students in Assam celebrated Hindu New Year (Gudi padwa) by making Rangoli at their houses. Also learned about the significance of Hindu new year which falls in the month of Chaitra.
Significance Events associated with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, Hindu New Year.
1. From the sunrise of this day, Lord Brahma began the creation of the universe.
2. Emperor Vikramaditya founded the kingdom on this day. The first day of Vikram Samvat begins with his name.
3. It is also the coronation day of Lord Sri Rama.

The name "Ugadi" came from Yuga + Aadi which means "Beginning of a New age. It is believed that the creator according to Hinduism, Lord Brahma started his work of creation on the Chaitra Sudha Padhyami(Ugadi). The onset of spring also in some way symbolically marks the beginning of a new life. The new life seen in the fields and meadows, with colorful blossoms, also signifies prosperity and well-being.
In Hinduism, the word puja is personal and sound system is used only during festivals, when the deity is meditated upon or worshiped individually in a secluded place. All the assembled Hindus hear Sri Gopi Chary Garu talk about various aspects of pujas and importance of Krodhi year and read about the forecast for each of the Naksatras.
6. Roundup of ground level activities from April 1 thru 10, 2024. (April 16)
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is conducting numerous activities at the ground level to preserve and protect Sanatana Dharma. We are conducting these activities in eight States in Bharat and Bangladesh. Some of you may have missed reading some of the articles. Following are the articles from April 1 through 10. 7. Hindu Girl was rescued from Love Jihad in Assam by Global Hindu Heritage Foundation (April 17)
A Hindu girl was kidnapped on April1st while she was coming from her parental house, got down bus and walking home at about 8:30PM. This area near Neelambazaar, Assam has not much public transport. Muslim youth in a store nearby observed this girl walking alone kidnapped in a car which was ready. In this Muslim majority area, there is no one to dare to complain even. Finally, girl's parents approached Global Hindu Heritage Foundation volunteers for help.
8. Preparations to provide water to cows, monkeys, dogs, cats, birds, etc. to protect them from the scorching Sun. Your help is appreciated. (April 18)
Summer-2024 has already started and is scorching. Our whole life is suffering due to heat and particularly for animals which are perishing and there is none to care for. There are many cattle, dogs, birds, squirrels, and many more dying on the streets and burrows. Thru Global Hindu Heritage Foundation we are providing water to these poor beings in as many cities as possible provided we find someone to volunteer this divine act. More particularly in Anantapur, Andhra there is high scarcity of water even for people. Just to refill the water in these tanks we were asked 30000 rupees apart from making tubs, transporting, and cleaning.
9. Assam - Amazing Membership drive and mass public contact campaign is attracting hundreds of Members to join GHHF. (April 19)
As part of Jansampark Abhiyan, our Pracharak contacted many village areas of Udharbond, distributed our pamphlet, and shared videos of his lectures. Pracharak said that on Ramanavami, he is arranging a meeting where 200-300 Hindus will gather, and he has to be present there as the villagers demand that I listen to him. He said, “Despite my bad health, I traveled 55 km and reached Borailtilla village. Villagers gathered in a local Puja mandapa. After listening to my lecture for about one hour, the village committee of VHP resigned publicly and joined GHHF Assam.”
10. Quenching thirst with “Water Pandals” (Chalivendralu) started; to face scorching Sun in 20 centers in four cities. Your Contributions are appreciated. (April 20)
Even today there are millions in India who cannot afford to buy a drink or even a bottle of water. Not even 0.01% has public taps to quench their thirst. Global Hindu Heritage Foundation has taken up this task in about 20 centers in hour cities providing drinking water for the poor and other living beings also. Foundation believes this task to be very divine. We have witnessed so much life perishing on the streets due to scorching heat and lack of water and trying to save as many as we can. We saw many people faint on the streets as they could not get a glass of water.
