Andhra Pradesh government appointed TDP’s NRI wing leader and former president of Telugu Association of North America (TANA), Komati Jayaram, as its Special Representative for North America.  In January 2026.
    On Sunday, he visited the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple, where he was honored by the Executive members. Then he met with the KSHT Executive Committee members and spent about 15 minutes talking about his business and political interests. 
    Later, he visited the residence of Nandini and Prakasarao, where he was facilitated and honored.
A grand facilitation ceremony was held at Prism at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas. Several Community leaders extolled his leadership qualities and recalled their decades-long association with him. In an order issued, Jayaram, in the capacity of special representative, will liaise with, facilitate, and assist all officials and dignitaries of the AP government traveling to North America. He would also mobilize financial, technical, and human resources from North America for the economic, social, cultural, and tourism development of AP.
Earlier, Jayaram served as the president of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA). Hailing from Krishna district, Jayaram joined the Telugu Desam Party in 2004.
Jayaram is the son of former Congress MLA Komati Bhaskar Rao, who represented the Mylavaram Assembly seat in Krishna district from 1989 to 1994. However, the NRI leader has been with the TDP since he joined the party in 2004 after leaving Congress.
Jayaram, who resides in Milpitas, Santa Clara County, California, founded the Swagat group of hotels. He also owns a chain of Indian restaurants in California. He is the founder and president of the first Telugu newspaper in North America.
