We are celebrating Independence Day with national spirit and patriotism. GHHF informed every Indian to take pride in Bharat and enjoy the freedom we received following the sacrifices of so many national heroes so that we could enjoy freedom. Remember all the national heroes who sacrificed their lives to ensure that the future generation will enjoy freedom.

Every year, India remembers the achievements of our people in various fields, which helps raise the people's standards of living. On a national level, it starts with the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort in Delhi. Every year, the Prime Minister of India hoists the Tiranga, followed by a speech addressing the nation. The speech often discusses the country's achievements in the past year, the challenges ahead, and the plans.

Schools, colleges, and various organizations also hold flag-hoisting ceremonies and organize cultural programs and competitions. Patriotic songs, dances, and skits are performed to honor the heroes of the independence movement and instill a sense of pride and patriotism in the younger generation.
The NCC Cadets conduct parades in schools and colleges, and sweets are distributed among little children. Lessons and stories about the freedom fighters who laid their lives to help build a free India are also presented.
Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, in his longest I-Day speech, at 98 minutes, delivered from the Red Fort, said that 'Viksit Bharat 2047' is not mere words; it is a reflection of the resolve and dreams of 140 crore people.
PM Modi says, "This year and for the past few years, our concerns have been mounting due to natural calamity. Several people have lost their family members and property in natural calamity; the nation, too, has suffered losses. Today, I express my sympathy to all of them, and I assure them that this nation stands with them during this hour of crisis."
The Prime Minister highlighted the overwhelming public input for the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative. “People have given many suggestions to make India developed by 2047, including making the nation a manufacturing hub and ensuring seed capital availability,” he said. Other suggestions focused on governance reforms, speeding up the justice delivery system, and promoting traditional medicines, reflecting the diverse and forward-thinking aspirations of the citizens.
Following are the highlights of his speech:
1)      We should implement the Civil Code to abolish discriminatory laws. We should implement a secular civil code
2)      Expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh and hoped that it will improve soon. India will always be supportive of Bangladesh’s growth and development.
3)      Advocating the idea of “One Nation, One Election.” Frequent elections create stagnation in the nation.
4)      Spoke about the issue of atrocities against women in the country and said he could feel the outrage of the people. “There is a need to widely publicize punishments given for atrocities against women so that there is a fear of consequence.”
5)      We should develop an education system in India that would eliminate the need for young people to study abroad. “We want to build such an education system in India that youngsters do not need to go abroad to study. We would want foreign students to come here and study,”
6)      He also touched upon the global promotion of millets, referred to as ‘Shri anna,’ stating, “People want ‘shri anna (millets)’ to reach every dining table in the world as a superfood.”
Quoting Dr. B R Ambedkar to underline that “political democracy cannot last unless there lies at the base of it social democracy,” President Droupadi Murmu Wednesday called for the strengthening of affirmative action “as an instrument of inclusion” and said, “tendencies that stoke discord based upon perceived social hierarchies have to be rejected.”
In her address to the nation on the eve of the 78th Independence Day, the President said, “Social justice is a top priority of the Government, and it has taken some unprecedented initiatives for the welfare of the SCs, STs, and other marginalized sections of society.”
“Affirmative action must be strengthened as an instrument of inclusion. I firmly believe that tendencies that stoke discord based upon perceived social hierarchies have to be rejected in a vast country like ours,” she said.
